A SLICE of the East End has come to Harwich with the opening of a pie and mash shop.
Al-fresco, in Kingsway, has undergone a £15,000 refit and is now open for business with a full menu of traditional grub.
As well as pie and mash, there’s also full English breakfasts served from 6am.
Co-owner Andrew Standen said: “It looks really good inside now, and we have lots of deals on for people, including pensioners.
“With so many ex-Londoner’s living in the town I wanted to give them something they would be missing."
As well as serving food in the restuarant, the upstairs function room will host bingo every Tuesday, with cash prizes of at least £150.
