MONEY originally earmarked for Dovercourt Swimming Pool will be shared across other centres, it has been confirmed.
Tendring Council held a consultation to decide how £700,000 should be spent to improve leisure centres across the district.
The consultation ended on August 3.
Final decisions on where the cash will be splashed is expected to be announced in the next six weeks.
But it has been revealed some of the money will definitely be spent in Frinton and Walton, as well as in Dovercourt.
Peter Halliday, councillor responsible for finance, said: “We are looking across the board, not necessarily at Clacton but at the substance of the buildings in Frinton, Walton and Dovercourt.”
The £700,000 was originally earmarked for Dovercourt Swimming Pool in Wick Lane.
However, Tendring Council announced in April this year the funds could be split between Dovercourt and facilities in Manningtree, Clacton, Frinton, Walton and Brightlingsea.
Jo Henderson, Harwich Town and District Councillor, said the decision to split the funds betrayed Harwich and Dovercourt residents.
“I’m really upset for my residents because they have been robbed,” she said.
