RED ties, scarves and socks were worn by mourners to pay tribute to former Tendring Labour leader Les Double.
Friends, family and colleagues said a final farewell to the Harwich stalwart at his funeral on Monday, January 28.
Tributes were read out to the Harwich Town, Tendring, and Essex County councillor at St Nicholas Church by former colleagues and friends.
Ivan Henderson, who took over from him as leader of the Labour Group for Tendring in May, said: “It was a really really big tribute to Les the amount of people that turned out from across the community.
“The service was really fantastic.”
Mr Double, who lost his two-year battle with cancer earlier this month, leaves a wife, daughter, son, and three grandchildren.
