DIGNITARIES and victims paid tribute to the eight Harwich residents who lost their lives during the 1953 flood at a special church service.
Rev Peter Mann lead the service at St Nicholas Church this morning.
It included hymns and a slide presentation with commentary describing what victims endured 60 years ago.
On the night of January 31 freezing waters crashed through the streets of Bathside and homes were flooded with eight feet of water.
After the moving service the flood memorial garden in Wellington Street was officially dedicated.
