A VILLAGE garage sale, set up 11 years ago to raise money in memory of a teenager who died from a rare form of cancer, has seen £5,500 shared between three charities.

Brantham hosts a sale each summer to remember 19-year-old Carla Dawson, who died in 2003.

Set up by mum Ronnie and Yvonne Amos, the sale has grown to be a huge annual event, raising thousands of pounds for charity.

The 2014 sale raised £5,500, which has now been split between the St Elizabeth Hospice (Carla Dawson Tribute Fund), Suffolk Family Carers and the George Woodward Fund.

This year’s garage sale will be held on June 20 from 9.30am to 4.30pm. There will be garages across the village open, as well as a barbecue, tombola, and ice cream van.
