DOVERCOURT were victorious in their opening Windsor League game of the season, at Brantham.

Both sides had to cope with a strong blustery wind in sunny conditions.

Dovercourt were worthy winners, winning on three rinks out of four and therefore taking the points 8-2.

The top rink was skipped by Ron Elliott, supported by Ken Sparkes and Jim Pottinger.

Prior to this match, Dovercourt had played in a friendly at Needham Market. Both sides had an enjoyable afternoon - until rain stopped play.

Both won three rinks, with Dovercourt winning overall by 91 shots to 79.

Dovercourt’s top rink was led by Val Green, supported by Peter Martin and Andy Todd, winning 27-6.

Tony Trigwell, supported by Irene Trigwell and Christine Griggs, won 21-8 and Christine Cathles, supported by Dave Griggs and Chris Barker, also won 17-14.
