THERE was a top-of-the-table game in the Harwich Men’s League as Ind Coope A defeated Hanover A 5-4.

Hanover’s Mick Chambers scored a 180 and Alan Mathieson had a 14-darter.

Coope have now completed the double over Hanover.

However, their lead at the top of the table is just two points.

Elsewhere, third-placed Trafalgar beat Maybush 6-3.

Shaun Fox scored his fifth 180 of the season for Traf.

Little Oakley moved up a place to fourth, after winning 6-3 at home to the Squirrels.

Kevin Mucklow had a 180 while Marcus Smith equalled the highest check-out, with a 160 finish.

Cricket Club beat Hanover B 6-3 on their own patch, while Ind Coope B won 7-2 at the Golf Club.

Chris Moncur, of Ind Coope B, scored a 180.

In division B, three of the top six teams lost.

There was a shock result as Royal Oak lost 6-3 at home to the R/A Club.

The Oak lost five of the six singles games, while Malcolm Carter won the fifth game for the R/A Club.

Another shock result saw Globe beat last week’s leaders, Shakers, 6-3.

Flag beat Cherry Tree 6-3, while Rangers moved top after winning all the games at home to winless Little Oakley B.

Ships moved up to second – two points behind Rangers.

For the Ships, Nick Lawrie had a 14-darter – his third of the season.

n The last date to enter the singles and pairs has been extended to Sunday, February 7. A committee meeting is being held on February 8, at the Royal (8pm).

The draw for the singles, pairs and knockout cup will take place then.

In the highest check-out so far, Marcus Smith (Little Oakley A) and Ben Attridge (US Club) had 160 each.

Martin Heath (Cricket Club) has the most 180s, with six, followed by Alan Mathieson (Hanover A) and Shaun Fox (Trafalgar).

Both have five.

Steve Barker (Little Oakley A) has the record for the least darts in the A division – a 13-dart leg.

The least darts in the B division has come from Nick Lawrie (Ships), with three 14-dart legs.

The most wins in the A division have come from George Lord (Maybush) – with ten out of 11 – and Alan Mathieson (Hanover A). The latter has managed ten out of ten.

Lloyd Smith, of B division Flag, has won 11 out of 11.
