LOWLY United Services Club caused an upset after inflicting a first defeat of the season on Harwich Men’s League leaders Ind Coope A 5-4.

Services’ Mark Price won the fifth game to claim a surprise win.

Team-mate Steve Heath had a 120 finish and Alan Collins, from the Coope, had a 113 finish.

Trafalgar had an 8-1 win at home to Hanover B.

The only winner for Hanover was Robbie Balaam.

For the Traf, Shaun Fox got his second 180.

There was a big win for Hanover A as they won all their games at home to the Golf Club.

Alan Mathieson, for Hanover, claimed his second 180 of the season, while Martin Heath, from the Cricket Club, scored two 180s in his team’s 5-4 win over Little Oakley A.

Oakley’s Steve Barker also scored a 180.

Jamie Lord got two 180s for his team, Maybush, as they lost to Ind Coope B 5-4.

The highest finish to date has come from Chris Moncur, from the Coope B, who had a wonderful 145 finish.

Two teams are leading the way in the B division.

Joint-leaders Cherry Tree beat The Globe 6-3.

For the Cherries, Keith Abbott had a 180 while Dan Goff had a 118 finish.

The other team at the top are Flag, who had a narrow 5-4 home win over Royal Oak.

Paul Kempen, for the Oak, scored his second 180.

Five teams are sitting on 18 points.

Shakers had another 7-2 win, this time beating The Ships.

Dean Singleton, for the Shakers, scored a 180.

Peter Rodgers, for the Shrimpers, won the very last game at the Luney Club to make the final score 8-1.

It is Shrimpers’ first point of the season, having lost the first two 9-0.

R/A Club have 18 points, thanks to a 7-2 win at Oakley B.

R/A Club’s Dave Martell had a 112 finish and Chris Barker a 116 shot-out.
